Within current Star Wars canon, Kepitenochan made its debut in issue number forty-three of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, released approximately on October 28th, 2015. The city initially appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity, with its first appearance being in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.
