Klatooine, the native world of the Klatooinian species, existed as a desert planet situated in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy, specifically within Hutt Space. A point of interest on a map included by the onetime pirate Queen Maz Kanata in the book which would be later known as the Smuggler's Guide, was this planet. The xenolinguist Jaiyna Sibinth, who dedicated her research to the language spoken by the Aki-Aki people of Pasaana, noted that Klatooine shared similar recurring symbols and themes with the native cultures of other desert planets.
