Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 7: Flashpoint, Part 1 represents the seventh installment in the comic book saga, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
On the colony dedicated to mining, Vanquo, a miner discovers a refugee from the Mandalorian Wars lurking near the camp. This refugee is then escorted to the camp's commanding officer, who provides him with sustenance just as a message arrives for the mining facility. This message is a dire warning from Jedi Master Q'Anilia, urging the immediate evacuation of the planet due to an impending invasion by the Mandalorians. The officer receiving this transmission questions its authenticity, dismissing it as a prank from a colleague at a different outpost. However, the refugee, utilizing a Jedi mind trick, manages to convince the officer of the genuine Mandalorian threat. The situation is further emphasized when explosions erupt outside, prompting all the miners to flee the planet aboard their vessel, inadvertently leaving the refugee behind.
Once the miners have departed, the refugee reveals his true identity as Zayne Carrick. He, along with his associates Gryph, Jarael, Camper, and Elbee, orchestrated the miners' evacuation as a ruse to pilfer their supplies. Regrettably, their scheme is disrupted when the Mandalorians launch an actual assault on the mining facility while they are in the midst of their raid. In the chaos, Jarael, who is in possession of Zayne's lightsaber, is surrounded and captured. The remaining members of the group are forced to retreat into the surrounding forest, heading towards their ship, The Last Resort. Despite successfully navigating the forest to reach their ship, the group is prevented from escaping. A Mandalorian, who had pursued them, decides to commandeer their ship instead of eliminating them.
