Bisad Koong

Bisad Koong held the position of governor for the Tawntoom province on Roon, a role he occupied in the early years of the Galactic Empire. He was a man consumed by megalomania, operating illicit ventures from his fortress that included theft and piracy. In addition to his criminal activities, he was highly skilled in political manipulation. During the last months of his life, his endeavors to secure favor with both the Galactic Empire and Admiral Terrinald Screed were repeatedly undermined by the merchant Mungo Baobab and his droids, C-3PO and R2-D2.

Biography

Before 15 BBY, Koong, together with his lieutenant Gaff, utilized his private army to seize control of Roon, effectively establishing himself as the de facto Governor of the Tawntoom province. Subsequently, he amassed a considerable fortune by taking control of a lightstation situated within the Cloak of the Sith. He intentionally caused ships to crash while attempting to navigate the dust cloud, recovering the wreckage to extract valuable goods for sale on the black market, including ship components, Nergon-14, and Mupple.

Driven by a desire to forge an alliance with the Empire, Koong reached an agreement with Admiral Terrinald Screed. He would supply the Empire with valuable Roonstones in exchange for maintaining his robust financial standing and a degree of autonomy over Roon. Upon salvaging the Caravel, a vessel owned by Mungo Baobab, Koong mistakenly identified the merchant as one of Screed's subordinates and proceeded to demonstrate the inner workings of his operations. It was only when Screed himself arrived to inspect Koong's activities that Koong realized he had been deceived. Baobab and his droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, were subsequently apprehended. However, Baobab managed to escape, causing damage to the lightstation, which resulted in its collision with an asteroid.

Governor Koong and Admiral Screed

In a desperate attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of the Empire following the failure of his previous scheme, Koong resolved to suppress resistance in the Umboo Province. To achieve this, he attempted to manipulate the outcome of the Roon Colonial Games to ensure that his Tawntoom team defeated the Umboo team, thereby demoralizing the rebels. However, his efforts were thwarted by the intervention of Mungo Baobab.

Later, Koong attempted to utilize the Rooze Disease to poison the Umboo Province. However, he inadvertently infected himself in the process. The esteemed physician, Nilz Yomm, was captured and forced to develop a cure for the disease. However, Baobab managed to steal the cure and liberate the doctor. Baobab negotiated an exchange: the cure and the location of the Roonstone treasure in return for his ship and Koong's pledge to leave Umboo in peace. However, Screed betrayed Koong, seizing control of Roon and claiming the treasure for himself.

Koong launched a failed attempt to assassinate Baobab and the Imperials, but he succumbed to his illness before he could administer the cure, resulting in his death.

Personality and traits

Compared to most Humans, Koong was rather short and stout, with a noticeable belly. This, along with his unshaven face and unbuttoned shirt, contributed to his disheveled appearance. He sported a buzzcut and spoke with a rough, gravelly voice.

Koong was typically seen wearing a green uniform, complemented by a red belt, red boots, and gold epaulets. This uniform design was also worn by the soldiers under his command.

Behind the scenes

During "The Roon Games," Koong was animated with only four fingers on each hand, instead of the usual five.
