The Krayt head was one of the three significant artifacts that the Tusken Raiders safeguarded within their relic cave. This head, originating from a krayt dragon, appeared to have undergone some form of preservation. Inside the cave, it was prominently showcased as a shrine.
Sometime following the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, a spacer pilfered the head, along with two other relics. These stolen items were then given to Srimaur, a scholar residing in the city of Mos Espa, for scholarly examination; however, the Tuskens were enraged by this act of theft. As a form of vengeance, the Tusken King spearheaded an army composed of Sand People to launch an invasion of Mos Espa.
The Krayt head made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. This game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts before its termination on December 15, 2011. The Krayt head was incorporated into the game alongside the "Tusken Army" Heroic Encounter, which was introduced with the release of the "Chapter 7" update on November 1, 2007.
