This empire was primarily controlled by the Kwa, a reptilian race hailing from Dathomir, who had achieved mastery over the Force, referring to it as the Power of the Cosmos. Movement throughout the Holdings was made possible via the Infinity Gates, structures that allowed immediate transportation and could also function as formidable superweapons, given their design based on Celestial principles. Approximately around 100,000 BBY, the Kwa Holdings came into contact with the Gree Empire, which sparked border disputes between the two powers.
The rise of the Rakatan Infinite Empire caused a reduction in the Kwa Holdings' political power. The Infinite Empire engaged in war against the Kwa, ultimately annexed their territory, and systematically eliminated the Kwa from across the galaxy. However, the original inhabitants of Dathomir survived, eventually transforming—or rather, devolving—into the Kwi by 8 ABY. The Infinity Gates and Star Temples, guarded by genetically engineered giant whuffa worms, were the only remnants of the Kwa Holdings.
