Kyramud-type battleship

The Kyramud-class battleship, taking its name from the Mando'a term signifying killer or assassin, was a series of capital ships employed by both the Mandalorian Crusaders and their successors, the Neo-Crusaders.

Characteristics

The aesthetic design of the Kyramud-class battleship bore a resemblance to the Basilisk war droids, as its design originated from stolen Basiliskan technology. While later iterations maintained similarities to those deployed during the Great Sith War, they showcased a more streamlined design, eliminating the more organic features found in earlier versions. These ships were equipped with armored "fins" along their flanks.

History

Kyramud-type battleships at the Battle of Vanquo.

These craft were frequently utilized in planetary ground assaults.

One such vessel is known to have attacked the Tetan carbonite smelter above Empress Teta, deploying numerous Basilisk war droids in an open-air assault. During the Mandalorian Wars in 3964 BBY, the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders employed various models of this class. These ships also functioned as carriers for both Basilisk war droids and starfighters.

In combat, Mandalorian battleships were typically accompanied by smaller warships and support vessels. Prior to and during the Great Sith War, they were often escorted by small, insectoid-like vessels, while the Jehavey'ir-type assault ships and Lictor-class dungeon ships provided support during the Mandalorian Wars.

Prior to 3963 BBY, Rohlan Dyre served as the leader of a shocktrooper squad aboard a battleship named Jai'galaar.
