A V-35 Courier landspeeder
A hovercar, more commonly known as a landspeeder, represented a form of ground-based vehicle. These vehicles possessed the capability to hover slightly above the surface, facilitating relatively rapid transportation. Luke Skywalker was the owner of an X-34 landspeeder. He and his newly acquainted companion C-3PO utilized it to journey into the Jundland Wastes in their search for R2-D2 after the droid's departure from the Lars moisture farm. Subsequently, following the destruction of the Lars homestead, he piloted the landspeeder to transport himself, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 from the Jundland Wastes to Mos Eisley. Upon their arrival in Mos Eisley, the group secured passage to Alderaan aboard the Millennium Falcon by enlisting the services of Han Solo and Chewbacca. To contribute to the cost of their voyage, Luke parted ways with his landspeeder, selling it for 2,000 credits. Luke expressed his disappointment with the selling price, commenting that the older models simply didn't sell as well once the new landspeeder models were released.
Landspeeders came in various models, including the RGC-18 landspeeder, the V-35 Courier, the T-44 landspeeder, the XP-38 sport speeder, and the V-40.
