A cutting torch served as a tool to sever specific substances. Rocket battle droids of the B1 series carried cutting torches as part of their standard equipment. During the Battle of Abregado in 22 BBY, a team of rocket battle droids employed these torches to breach escape pods while pursuing those who had survived the assault on the Malevolence.
