Spinner at the controls of the Last Hope over Tahv
The Last Hope, a Jedi vessel, found itself marooned on Kesh for almost four millennia following the cataclysmic event known as the Great Calamity, which occurred after the Hundred-Year Darkness. It originated as part of a Jedi patrol intercepting a Dark Jedi starship that had fled the Stygian Caldera, the destination of exiled Dark Jedi after their defeat in the Battle of Corbos around 6900 BBY. The Jedi followed their Dark Jedi adversaries to Kesh, where a powerful magnetic field prevented both Force-sensitive factions from leaving the planet. A devastating conflict ensued, wreaking havoc on the world and endangering the native Keshiri. Ultimately, the two Force-wielding groups brokered peace, imprisoning the Dark Jedi leader, Remulus Dreypa, within a stasis casket or oubliette. This Jedi Starship survived the conflict and was concealed within the Keshiri burial grounds beneath Circle Eternal, a revered location within the city of Tahv.
Concurrently, the Jedi and Dark Jedi journeyed to Eshkrene, the planet's frozen southern continent, establishing a new group called "the Doomed" dedicated to safeguarding the Keshiri. During the Great Hyperspace War around 5000 BBY, dark side-influenced Human Sith from the Sith Empire were stranded on Kesh. Under the guidance of Yaru Korsin, these survivors formed the "Lost Tribe of Sith" and assumed control over the Keshiri population on the main continent, Keshtah Minor. Oblivious to the truth, these Sith appropriated ancient Keshiri narratives of the Great Calamity to legitimize their claim as the divine "Skyborn." In 2974 BBY, Parlan Spinner, an exile from the Lost Tribe, and Takara Hilts, a Sith princess, stumbled upon the Doomed in Eshkrene.
Driven by vengeance against the Tribe, Spinner absconded with Dreypa's oubliette and returned to Keshtah, where he and Dreypa initiated a rebellion against the Tribe. After Dreypa unleashed monstrous Sithspawn called Leviathans, the Doomed arrived aboard a squadron of uvaks, attempting to subdue Dreypa's creations. However, they were defeated, and Dreypa's Sithspawn drained their life force. Dreypa also extracted their memories, discovering the existence of the Jedi Starship. Simultaneously, Spinner allied himself with Takara and Kaliska, the leader of the Doomed, who revealed the vessel's presence to the two Human Sith. Fearing Dreypa's ambitions for galactic dominance, Kaliska sought to prevent him from acquiring the starship and ordered its destruction.
Spinner pledged to destroy the vessel but betrayed his word upon reaching Tahv. He successfully launched into the atmosphere above Tahv, but Dreypa contacted him, threatening to obliterate Tahv and kill Hilts if he didn't return the starship. Overwhelmed by his affection for Takara, Spinner returned to Tahv and deployed the Jedi Starship to eliminate the Leviathans. During the conflict, both Takara and Dreypa found themselves clinging to the exterior of the Jedi Starship. Spinner feigned "returning" the starship to Dreypa before leaping into the Southern Ocean with Takara. Dreypa seized control of the starship only to discover that Spinner had programmed the autopilot for a collision course with the caldera of Sessal Spire. The Jedi Starship plummeted into the volcanic crater and was obliterated, resulting in Dreypa's demise. This prevented any knowledge of Kesh and the Lost Tribe from reaching the wider galaxy for thousands of years.
