LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is a five-episode, non-canonical LEGO Star Wars mini-series. It originally aired on Disney XD. This show re-tells the narratives of the live-action Star Wars movies, beginning with Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and concluding with Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. In addition, it includes an adaptation of the Star Wars Rebels episode "Droids in Distress," and a Clone Wars story that was specifically created for this series. All of these events are presented from the point of views of the droids C-3PO and R2-D2.
LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales starts shortly after the Battle of Endor. C-3PO and R2-D2 recount the events that led them to that very battle to an audience. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "an accidental kidnapping triggers a new adventure, and this adventure leads to the saga being retold in chronological order, from The Phantom Menace through to Return of the Jedi."
The Hollywood Reporter made the announcement about the mini-series on February 27, 2015. The initial episode of the series was broadcast on Disney XD on July 6, 2015, as a lead-in to the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens on December 18.
The series can be viewed on the Disney+ streaming platform, which was launched on November 12, 2019.
