Liberating the Blackguard

Liberating the Blackguard, a painting, was accessible within the galaxy of the Legends continuity. Its existence is noted after the Battle of Yavin during the Galactic Civil War, the extended conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. This artwork showcased the Imperial-class Star Destroyer known as the Blackguard in a blueprint-esque format, displaying the starship from multiple perspectives. The artwork's name is a reference to the liberation of the Blackguard when spacers took it back from its mutinous captain, Andal Sait.

Behind the scenes

The painting titled Liberating The Blackguard was featured in Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multi-player online role-playing game from 2003. LucasArts published the game, while Sony Online Entertainment developed it. Players were able to obtain it as a reward upon completion of the "DePalma's Dispatch" collection. This collection necessitated that the player successfully land their personal starship on the Blackguard twenty-five separate times. Credit for landing on the Blackguard was only granted once every six hours. The painting and the associated collection were introduced to the game on January 15, 2008, as part of the Chapter 8: The Nova Orion Crisis game update. Players had the option to display the painting as a decorative item within their in-game personal structures.
