Lightning Squadron was a unit of BTL Y-wing starfighters, specifically a squadron, that fought as an element of Han Solo's task force while they were pursuing Warlord Zsinj and his Super Star Destroyer, the Iron Fist.
This squadron, Lightning Squadron, was based on the starfighter carrier Battle Dog. They participated in the assault on the Iron Fist within the Vahaba system, operating as a component of Wedge Antilles' strike group. Subsequently, they became part of the defensive formation protecting the Mon Remonda during the ensuing Battle of Selaggis. It is believed that the squadron sustained significant casualties when Zsinj's decoy vessel, the Second Death, was set off.
