The Mon Remonda holds the distinction of being the initial MC80B Star Cruiser of the Mon Calamari lineage to be commissioned by the New Republic. This vessel, one of the most formidably armed and technologically advanced in the Alliance's naval forces, was under the command of Captain Onoma and functioned as the flagship for the task force led by Han Solo in their pursuit of Zsinj.

During the Seizure of Coruscant, the Mon Remonda played an active role, notably capturing the Imperial Star Destroyer named Triumph. Following the Triumph's shield failure, the Mon Remonda unleashed a barrage of turbolaser and ion cannon fire, inflicting sufficient damage to allow assault shuttles to safely engage in a direct assault. Shortly thereafter, the Triumph experienced a complete power loss and began an uncontrolled descent into the atmosphere of Coruscant, compelling Onoma to employ tractor beams to arrest its fall and adjust its orbital trajectory.
In subsequent years, the Mon Remonda served as the flagship of the Solo Fleet during the hunt for Warlord Zsinj. The Mon Remonda's substantial firepower proved crucial in thwarting Zsinj's ambition to seize a second Executor-class Star Dreadnought, the Razor's Kiss, resulting in the destruction of the Razor's Kiss and significant damage to the warlord's flagship, the Iron Fist. The Mon Remonda itself sustained considerable damage in the engagement. Following repairs conducted at the Fondor Shipyards, it was instrumental in the decisive Battle of Selaggis, which marked the culmination of the campaign.

The Mon Remonda accommodated four squadrons of starfighters. During the pursuit of Zsinj, these squadrons included Rogue, Wraith, Nova and Polearm squadrons.
The cruiser remained in service to the New Republic until its destruction in the Battle of Calamari at the hands of the World Devastator, Silencer-7. In its final moments, the vessel succeeded in destroying a Star Destroyer and several escort vessels, saving the lives of thousands of Mon Calamari and Quarren. All crew members perished in the destruction.
