LJ-50 concussion rifle

The LJ-50 concussion rifle represents a particularly potent and lethal blaster rifle design, brought to fruition by Arakyd Industries. An accidental delivery of LJ-50s to a squad belonging to the 92nd Coruscant Engineers led to an interesting development: the squad's armorer, recognizing their capabilities for demolishing walls and dispersing opposing forces, disassembled them into blaster carbines.

These altered weapons demonstrated clear effectiveness, which impressed the squad's commanding officer. This positive feedback eventually made its way back to Arakyd. Subsequently, Arakyd initiated production of these modified versions, alongside the original LJ-50s, under the designation LJ-40 concussion carbine.

Behind the scenes

The initial reference to the LJ-50 concussion rifle within the updated Star Wars canon can be found within Fully Operational, a 2018 sourcebook for Fantasy Flight Games' roleplaying game, Star Wars: Age of Rebellion. However, the weapon's origins trace back to the Star Wars Legends timeline, making its debut in the 2005 video game, Star Wars: Republic Commando.
