Lob bomb

A lob bomb functioned as a projectile-based weapon utilized by the New Republic. These bombs, compact enough for installation on a BTL-S8 K-wing assault starfighter, were launched in curved trajectories, enabling strikes against targets located beyond the visible horizon of planets without putting the starfighter within range of hostile weaponry. The K-wings belonging to the 24th Bombardment Squadron deployed lob bombs in order to obliterate the hypervelocity cannon situated on Bessimir's alpha moon.
