Lomrokk

As an executioner for the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, Lomrokk was a Gamorrean male warlord. His reputation for killing in pit fighting contests made him well-known throughout the Outer Rim Territories. This fame led to his employment as Jabba's gladiator and designated executioner, a role he held until the arrival of the rancor at Jabba's Palace on the planet Tatooine. It is widely believed that this Gamorrean was responsible for the demise of the infamous Clantaani criminal known as Longo Two-Guns.

Biography

Lomrokk served as Jabba the Hutt's personal gladiator and main executioner.

Lomrokk, a Gamorrean male and former warlord, was at one time removed from his position, leading him to take up pit fighting. This occupation gained him notoriety across the Outer Rim Territories due to his prowess in killing. His reputation grew even further after he defeated a gundark, a large, semi-sentient four-armed anthropoid known for its incredible strength. Subsequently, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, a notorious Hutt crime lord in the galaxy, hired the Gamorrean. Lomrokk became a part of Jabba's criminal empire, serving as the Hutt's personal gladiator and chief executioner at Hutt Castle, situated in the Northern Dune Sea of the desert planet Tatooine. The former warlord's tenure in Jabba's castle predated the arrival of the rancor, a large Dathomiri reptomammal used by the Hutt to eliminate enemies, an event that occurred between 0 BBY and 4 ABY.

In 32 BBY, Jabba offered a bounty of 50,000 credits for the capture of Longo Two-Guns, a Clantaani criminal also known as the "fastest blaster on Tatooine." Jango Fett, a bounty hunter, apprehended Longo and delivered him to Jabba. The most widely accepted account suggests that Jabba then cast Longo into the shaft leading to the fighting pit, where Lomrokk was expected to execute the gangster. Lomrokk began by striking Longo Two-Guns, sending him across the pit, and then, following Jabba's orders, Lomrokk used an axe to kill the Clantaani.

Personality and traits

Lomrokk was a heartless Gamorrean with dark-green skin, possessing greater physical strength and intelligence than most of his species. Standing taller than the average Gamorrean height of 1.8 meters by two heads, he also bore numerous battle scars across his large, muscular frame. Throughout the Outer Rim, Lomrokk was renowned for his deadly skills, having defeated every opponent he faced in combat. Longo Two-Guns, one of his victims, noted a uniquely cruel intelligence in Lomrokk's [eyes](/article/eye-legends], something he had never witnessed before.

Equipment

Lomrokk's weapon of choice was a massive battleaxe. He typically fought without a shirt, wearing furred shorts, a belt, shoulder pads, and bracelets.

Behind the scenes

Concept art for Lomrokk, depicting a tauntaun skull at the base

Lomrokk was conceived as Longo Two-Guns's executioner in a short story for the non-canon Star Wars Mythos project of 2012, an undertaking by Sideshow Collectibles. The story was published on Sideshow's website. Star Wars Mythos expands upon the narrative of Longo Two-Guns, which originated in the 2002 video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, while also introducing the character of Lomrokk. The project also involved creating a nineteen-inch-tall polystone statue of the executioner, the third in a series of five commissioned characters.

The overall style and aesthetic of Lomrokk's illustration drew inspiration from the barbarian artwork of science-fiction artist Frank Frazetta. The tauntaun skull featured in the concept sketches and the final statue was included to evoke the Colosseum in Italy and its gladiatorial contests in Ancient Rome. The creation of Lomrokk involved artists Tom Gilliland and Seth Rinaldi, designer David Igo, sculptor Michael Norman, and painters Anthony Mestas, Steve Riojas, Jesse Lincoln, and Ian MacDonald.

Lomrokk received another mention in the first installment of The Official Star Wars Blog series "So Uncivilized: Great Gunslingers in Star Wars," penned by Ed Erdelac and released on September 19, 2013. Consequently, this article treats the Mythos details as Star Wars Legends canon.
