Lorqual were creatures native to Ansion, potentially the largest beings on the planet. Their size was considerable, standing at twice the height and possessing four times the mass of the suubatars, and they lived in groups. These animals were characterized by coarse brown fur, bulky heads featuring six bony protrusions, six feet each with six horned digits, and relatively small eyes.
During 22 BBY, the courageous and small Gwurran Tooqui instigated a lorqual stampede directed at a Qulun camp. This act was carried out to liberate his Jedi companions and their Alwari outcast guides from the schemes of the corpulent trader chieftain Baiuntu, who was manipulated by Soergg the Hutt and his majordomo Ogomoor. The stampede achieved its intended purpose, allowing the Jedi to successfully conclude their mission: to forge an agreement between the Alwari tribes and the planet's governing body, known as the Unity of Community. This unity prevented Sith- and Commerce Guild-orchestrated plans for Ansion to break away (secede) from the Galactic Republic.
