The construction of these transport vehicles allowed soldiers to discharge weaponry from within, giving them the capacity to launch assaults as their ship executed fly-bys of opposing forces. In the early phases of the Liberation of Kashyyyk, a LAIT, crewed by forest troopers, executed an ambush against Chewbacca, Jas Emari, and Han Solo within the forests of Kashyyyk.
