Lucasfilm Games


Lucasfilm Games functions as a division of Lucasfilm, offering assistance to partner video game developers and publishers.

History

Lucasfilm Games was first presented to the public on January 11, 2021 via StarWars.com. Shortly after, on January 12, the announcement of an Indiana Jones game followed, and on January 13, a Star Wars game from Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft was revealed. Prior to these announcements, the division received mentions in the credits of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Onslaught, which was released on October 22, 2019, as well as in Star Wars Insider 193, within an interview concerning Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that was published on October 30, 2021, and also in an article on SWTOR.com that was published on December 20.

On February 17, 2021, Lucasfilm Games and Zynga jointly announced Star Wars: Hunters. The game, which has been under development by NaturalMotion since 2018, is currently scheduled for release in late 2021. A trailer was unveiled on December 9, 2021 during The Game Awards 2021, announcing Star Wars Eclipse by Quantic Dream.

It was revealed on January 25, 2022 that Electronic Arts had three new projects in development at Respawn Entertainment: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a strategy game, and a first-person shooter game. Several months later, on April 19, 2022, it was made public that Skydance New Media, led by Amy Hennig, was also developing another title.
