In the year 40 ABY, the Sith's Dark Lady, Lumiya, concealed a vibroblade inside her footwear. While she was hosting the Twi'lek Dark Jedi, Alema Rar, at her asteroid residence, Lumiya took out the vibroblade and stabbed it into her own lower extremity. Rar was shocked that the blade did nothing to the Dark Lady, due to the fact that all of her limbs were cybernetic.
The vibroblade used by Lumiya is seen in Karen Traviss's book Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice, which was released in 2007 and is the fifth book in the nine-part Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series. This is the only instance where the weapon is referenced, and it was identified as something she carried with her. Traviss was very interested in how she portrayed the interaction between Lumiya and Alema Rar in Sacrifice, and she focused on how their views differed regarding their different injuries, using the vibroblade to show how much Lumiya's body had been changed.
