M2

M2 represented a specific configuration of type B ion cannon mines arranged into a minefield by the Rebel Alliance.

Prior to the Battle of Hoth, the Rebel forces put M2 into service. During its deployment, the minefield successfully trapped the Imperial Dagger 1 and [Dagger 2] _Assassin_-class corvettes, which were transporting torpedoes along with components for TIE Series starfighters.

To rescue the trapped corvettes and protect the repair work being done by the Gamma-class ATR-6 assault transport Omega, two Missile Boats were sent. They were needed as the Rebel MC40a light cruiser Planka appeared, intending to seize the ships caught in the Rebel minefield.

The Missile Boats eliminated the minefield, the Rebel cruiser, and the starfighters launched from the cruiser. Following this, the Dagger group jumped to hyperspace to resume the task they were assigned.
