On the planet of Wobani, a stormtrooper utilized a magna-lock to secure Jyn Erso's stuncuffs to a chair by linking them at their central point. Many decades prior, during the era of the Galactic Republic, magna lock technology found application within the Coruscant Jedi Temple for the purpose of firmly affixing metal grates to the walls. These metal grates served as coverings for the entrances to maintenance ducts that extended throughout the temple, and they could be detached through the use of the Force.
