Magnetic clamp

ClampSpeeder A landspeeder that utilizes magnetic clamping technology A magnetic clamp was a type of technology employed to magnetically fasten objects that are non-magnetic to a metallic surface. These devices, which were also referred to as magclamps, were specifically engineered for the purpose of towing damaged and immobile vessels back to repair facilities. Their design was characterized by bulkiness and a lack of precision. Jedi Vectors came equipped with a quartet of magclamps that could launch cable lines to secure themselves magnetically to a starship or another object for towing purposes. These cables could be constructed from either Egarian silk or duralloy.

Historical Information

On board the Chimaera, three royal guards made use of modified Force pikes equipped with magnetic clamps in an attempt to restrain Ezra Bridger. The weapons they wielded projected a yellow energy field that was capable of lifting and holding Ezra in place; however, it required all three pikes to achieve this, a fact that he exploited by flinging several rocks and boulders from a stolen fragment of the Lothal Jedi Temple at his assailants in order to disrupt their efforts. The boots incorporated into Darth Vader's armor included magnetic clamps, which were put to use during his raid on Cylo's research base. During this assault, he forcibly breached a section of the base's hull, which resulted in the crew in the immediate vicinity being expelled into the vacuum of space.
