Maltok was a Trandoshan male permitor (of the male gender) connected to House Renseth. Living and operating out of Depatar, Maltok was known for being loud, conceited, and full of himself. He held a strong dislike for any non-local who chose to employ the services of permitors other than himself.
In the year 31 BBY, Maltok went to meet an incoming ship, with the expectation that the newly arrived visitors would enlist him as their permitor. Among the other permitors hoping for the job were Furran, Gusimin the Honest, Koyi Kobad, and Sadana. They were all let down when they found out that Fot Ducela was already hired by the visitors.
Maltok proclaimed himself to be the "Grand Permitor of House Renseth", but the precise significance of this statement remains uncertain. It's possible Maltok was merely boasting, House Renseth may have had multiple individuals holding that title, or it could be that Maltok genuinely possessed unique authority.
