Maria (MC80 Star Cruiser)
The Maria, a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser of the MC80 Liberty type and sister ship to the Liberty, served the Rebel Alliance throughout the Galactic Civil War.
History
Subsequent to the evacuation of Yavin 4 and the betrayal by Ghorin, the Maria took possession of the stolen cargo from Ghorin's CR90 corvette, the Halifax, and his seized Y-wings as part of Operation Grain Snatch. Furthermore, the Maria played a role in defending a Leafar convoy during an Imperial assault.
Along with the Yali, the Maria was among the last Rebel warships to head towards Echo Base on Hoth. While en route, the two cruisers came under attack from the Imperial frigates Fear, Hate, Fury and Spite, but both successfully jumped to hyperspace after eliminating the frigates.
Later, the Maria linked up with the primary fleet gathering near Sullust in preparation for participation in the Battle of Endor.
After the Battle of Endor concluded, the vessel was assigned to the New Republic Third Fleet under the command of Captain Verrack. During the Liberation of Kashyyyk, it was responsible for destroying Grand Admiral Syn's Silooth.
