Mars Guo

Mars Guo was a Phuii male known for his skills as a podracer pilot. This individual, prone to both excessive alcohol consumption and a fondness for attractive women, frequently found himself in predicaments due to his outspoken nature. Despite his small size, he often instigated conflicts with the local lowlifes of Mos Espa, invariably resulting in his own defeat.

Biography

Mars Guo during the Boonta Eve Classic.

Although Mars wasn't the most accomplished podracer in the sport, he had established a considerable reputation within the minor rim leagues. He was confident in his ability to secure a victory in the prestigious Boonta Eve Classic. Regrettably, he committed the error of overindulging in alcoholic beverages at Boles Roor's glimmik performance the night before the race. Even worse, he made advances towards Ann Gella, one of Sebulba's Twi'lek masseuses. Teemto Pagalies, a Veknoid who harbored a long-standing infatuation with Ann, overheard this interaction.

Incensed, Teemto reported the incident to Sebulba the following day. Sebulba retaliated by subtly damaging Guo's podracer. During the second lap, Sebulba became irritated by the fact that Guo's Collor Pondrat Plug-2 Behemoth was still competitive. To resolve the issue, he deliberately broke off a piece of his own pod and launched it backward into one of Guo's massive engines. This resulted in the destruction of Guo's vehicle, sending it spiraling out of control.

Many assumed that this marked the end for the boastful Phuii pilot. However, Mars miraculously survived and returned to his home world of Phu, though he was unsuccessful in winning Ann Gella's affections. While receiving medical attention, a spiteful Sebulba convinced race officials to auction off all of Guo's possessions, including his two enslaved Rodian mechanics, Pax and Trax Bonkik. Teemto Pagalies purchased Pax before the auction commenced. It was a considerable period before he reappeared on the podracing scene.

Behind the scenes

The model of Guo depicted here features orange eyes with slitted pupils. However, the CG representation of Guo in one of the deleted scenes displays white eyes with round pupils. This discrepancy may suggest that Phuii possess the ability to alter their eye color, a trait also observed in Kushibans.
