Master Archivist designated an archivist whose duties included gathering and indexing archives along with various notes. An example of this role is Mordianius, who served as a Master Archivist during the decades that followed the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. The Rebel Files at one time belonged to Mordianius; he subsequently dispatched them to Korr Sella for delivery to General Leia Organa, who led the Resistance.
The title of Master Archivist was also used to refer to the Chief Librarian within the structure of the Jedi Order.
