The Mathayus, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, operated under the command of Admiral Coy, succeeded by Admiral Dezsetes. Atali served as its First Officer.
In the year 1 BBY, the vessel transported Darth Vader to Dargulli for an assignment: the elimination of a criminal wielding a lightsaber.
During this journey, Dezsetes, then holding the rank of Second Officer, orchestrated a fabricated distress signal from a Rebel vessel situated close to Yorn Skot. This was part of Grand Moff Trachta's scheme to take power of the Galactic Empire by attempting to assassinate Vader using a ship rigged with explosives. However, Vader dispatched First Officer Atali in his stead. The resulting blast caused significant damage to the Mathayus' hangar bay, which was later repaired.
Following the death of Admiral Coy, Dezsetes assumed command of the Mathayus. Coy's demise was, in reality, a murder committed in his private quarters by Dezsetes, who deemed him unreliable for the planned coup. When Dezsetes attempted to eliminate Vader, he and his group of devoted stormtroopers met their end at the hands of the Dark Lord.
