Meeshal was a Captain in the Imperial Navy, a Human who pledged allegiance to Darth Krayt and his One Sith. He functioned under the authority of the Sith Lord known as Darth Stryfe.
Under Stryfe's orders, Captain Meeshal provided assistance when Emperor Krayt dispatched Stryfe to locate and eliminate any surviving members of the New Jedi Order on Ossus. Acting upon Stryfe's directive, he issued the command to target and obliterate the temple with heavy bombardment.
The character of Meeshal, including his name and physical characteristics, draws inspiration from Mish'al Samman, who holds the title of "Commanding Officer" for the Saudi Arabian detachment of the real-world 501st Legion.
