During the decline of the Galactic Republic, a female Human known as Mei existed as a Dark Jedi. She was the daughter of Sukarr, who belonged to the Jensaarai cult. These events transpired in the years leading up to the Republic's fall.
Sukarr, Mei's father, met his end at the hands of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in 19 BBY, a slain Dark Jedi just before the Clone Wars concluded. Sometime later, Mei crossed paths with Fomadu, a Bpfasshi Dark Jedi contemplating ending his life after his brother Zukao perished during the Bpfassh Uprising, a death that weighed heavily on him. Mei intervened, preventing Fomadu's suicide. Consequently, Fomadu transferred the Force-bond he had previously shared with Zukao to Mei. In return, Fomadu gained renewed purpose, and their mysterious master, a Force-sensitive cyborg, instilled hope in them. Mei, Fomadu, and their master collectively revered the Great Void, believing it to be the ultimate truth, rejecting the duality of the Dark side and Light side.
Shortly after the Great Jedi Purge commenced, Mei and Fomadu sought out two Jedi Masters, T'ra Saa and Tholme, on Nar Shaddaa, intending to avenge the Bpfasshi's slaughter. However, they encountered Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had arrived on Nar Shaddaa after his duel with Darth Vader to sell the Soulless One before his planned journey to Tatooine with the infant Luke Skywalker. Sensing Kenobi's presence in the Force amidst a skirmish with local thugs, they initially assisted him before turning on him. A pursuit ensued through Nar Shaddaa's streets, fueled by Force speed. Eventually, Fomadu cornered Kenobi in a waste shaft, where the Jedi prevailed in a hard-fought duel, striking down his opponent.
Mei arrived soon after, reacting with horror upon discovering her lover's severed head. Kenobi defended his actions, stating he had no alternative, but his words failed to sway Mei's determination to kill him. Nevertheless, at Kenobi's urging, she vowed to deliver Luke to Tatooine if she won. Kenobi, foreseeing a fatal outcome for both of them, refused to engage, dropping his lightsaber. Incensed by his refusal to fight, Mei demanded he defend himself. When Kenobi persisted in his refusal, Mei attempted to seize Luke's cradleboard, hoping to bait Kenobi. However, her plan backfired when the infant used the Force to activate his father's lightsaber within the cradle. The lightsaber's blade struck Mei behind her chin, exiting through the top of her skull, resulting in the Dark Jedi's death.
