A Dark Jedi of the Bpfasshi species, Fomadu was a male who existed near the end of the Galactic Republic era.
In the year 19 BBY, during the Clone Wars conflict, the Jedi, under the leadership of Grand Master Yoda, were victorious against the Bpfasshi in the Bpfassh Uprising. That same year, several key members of the Jensaarai cult, who were known to conspire with the Bpfasshi, faced death at the hands of Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, Nejaa Halcyon, and Ylenic It'kla on the planet of Susevfi. On the planet Malo VI, Fomadu allied himself with Mei, whose father, Sukarr, had been killed by Kenobi on Susevfi. She prevented Fomadu from taking his own life following the death of his brother, Zukao, and he transferred the Force-bond he shared with his Bpfasshi sibling to her. In return, Fomadu provided her with purpose, while their new master, an enigmatic Force-sensitive cyborg, instilled hope within them. The cyborg and his followers venerated the Great Void, believing it to be the only true reality, as they denied the existence of both the Dark side and the Light side.
Subsequently, Fomadu and Mei sought out two Jedi Masters, T'ra Saa and Tholme, on Nar Shaddaa, intending to kill them as retribution for their involvement in the Bpfasshi slaughter. However, they encountered Obi-Wan Kenobi there instead, who had traveled to Nar Shaddaa after his duel with Darth Vader to sell the Soulless One before his journey to Tatooine with the infant Luke Skywalker. The two Dark Jedi attempted to pursue Kenobi. Fomadu eventually confronted Kenobi in the waste shaft, where they engaged in a lightsaber duel. During their confrontation, Fomadu's fleet blade blocked Obi-Wan's killing blow, deflecting the lightsaber. Obi-Wan swiftly seized Fomadu's lightsaber-wielding wrist, and they began to grapple. Due to his weakened state after his duel with Vader, Obi-Wan channeled Luke's unique Force signature into himself and accessed an image protected at the edge of the Bpfasshi's mind. In a fleeting moment, Obi-Wan manifested a Force illusion, transforming himself into Fomadu's deceased brother, Zukao. Fomadu was momentarily stunned, and Kenobi twisted the darksider's wrist backward, resulting in the beheading of the Bpfasshi with his own lightsaber.
