Data storage was accomplished using devices known as memory crystals, which were also referred to as info crystals. During the Clone Wars, the Jedi Order utilized a specific one to keep records of all infants across the galaxy who exhibited Force-sensitive abilities. The Duros bounty hunter Cad Bane, acting on orders from the malevolent Sith Lord Darth Sidious, successfully stole this valuable crystal, which was under the protection of Jedi Master Bolla Ropal at the time.
