Misha Vontoba was a female individual, and she was the leader of a group of wandering people on the planet named Jakku. Around the time that the Hosnian Cataclysm occurred, these nomads stumbled upon the destroyed New Republic corvette known as Starlight Wanderer. This vessel had crashed during the Battle of Jakku many years prior. The nomads gained access to the corvette's computer and realized there was a secret hidden within a vault located somewhere on the ship. Consequently, they began their search to locate it.
News of this discovery reached the ears of the Strus Clan, a group of thieves operating on Jakku, who then launched an attack on the nomads at the crash site. Vontoba dispatched a group of adventurers, who happened to be among the nomads, to confront the Clan. The adventurers emerged victorious, successfully driving the Clan away.
Fearing the Strus Clan's potential return, Vontoba called a meeting with the nomads to determine their next course of action. The adventurers aided Vontoba in exploring the corvette to find the hidden vault. During their search, one of the nomads discovered a concealed hatch that led to the secret chamber. Inside, they found a datapad containing the coordinates for numerous secret Imperial military bases situated in the Unknown Regions. This information had been pilfered from the Star Destroyer Eradicator during the Battle of Jakku. The adventurers departed Jakku to investigate these installations, but they assured Vontoba that they would return to assist in protecting the nomads from the Strus Clan.
The Strus Clan vowed to get even with the nomads, so Vintoba and her people fortified the Star Wanderer wreck site and sought refuge there to protect themselves. Eventually, the adventurers made their way back to Jakku, and Vontoba tasked them with persuading a group of mercenaries led by Brana Tsaro to provide assistance to the nomads. The adventurers succeeded in their mission, and Tsaro's mercenaries successfully repelled the Strus Clan, leaving Vontoba and the nomads in peace.
