During the time of the Republic Era, Jedi Master Lene Kostana embarked on a quest to the planet Asusto. This journey was motivated by whispers of Sith artifacts surfacing within the black market. Having successfully infiltrated a smuggler operation located on Karazak, Kostana, accompanied by her Padawan Sifo-Dyas and fellow Padawan Dooku, made their way to Asusto. There, they came across several Abyssin engaged in the illicit trade of nerve disruptors; Dooku, overcome by fury, killed them. Before they had the opportunity to confirm the existence of the rumored Sith artifacts, the last surviving members of the Presagers of Hakotei captured them, intending to use them in a ritual. As Dooku underwent a harrowing vision, he inadvertently unleashed Force lightning, resulting in the death of the Presagers.
