Mission to the Corellian-Perlemian Intersection

The operation targeting the Corellian-Perlemian Hyperspace Intersection occurred in 21 BBY, which equates to 367 standard days following the initial clash on Geonosis. This undertaking fell under the purview of the Grand Army of the Republic's special operations branch, responsible for Traffic Interdiction Operations. Clone commandos belonging to Omega Squad received orders to intercept and apprehend all individuals aboard a Gizer L-6 freighter. Intel suggested that the targeted vessel had departed from Cularin, was en route to Denon, and would be emerging from hyperspace at the Corellian-Perlemian hyperspace junction within the Tynna sector.

The Assignment

The Gizer L-6 freighter in question was part of a trio of ships forming a civilian convoy. Unbeknownst to Omega Squad, another Gizer L-6 served as a diversion. Aboard TIV Z590/1, Omega Squad waited for the Gizer L-6 to arrive. Upon the arrival of the first vessel, the TIV initiated an intercept and boarding action but had to cease the operation after discovering that the vessel was, in fact, a decoy civilian Gizer L-6. The genuine target appeared second, and the TIV attached itself to its hull following a brief exchange of fire. Omega Squad then penetrated the hull and boarded the freighter.

Once inside, the commandos gained control of the cabin area and took two prisoners into custody. However, the civilian freighter, Nova Crystal, then attacked the TIV, mistaking it for a pirate vessel. The TIV suffered destruction, resulting in the death of its clone trooper pilot, Sicko. The destruction of the TIV led to a loss of pressure in the L-6's cargo hold, which also resulted in the deaths of the two captured prisoners. The remaining three crew members barricaded themselves within the ship's cockpit.

This put Omega Squad in a precarious situation, as their Mark III Katarn Armor provided limited protection in the vacuum of space. Despite this, they managed to seize control of the freighter's cockpit and apprehend the remaining crew without causing any further breaches in the hull. The prisoners consisted of two Nikto, M'truli and Gysk, and one Human, Farr Orjul. Due to the damage inflicted on the freighter's environmental systems, the commandos required immediate evacuation, leading to a Red Zero distress signal being sent for emergency extraction.

Both the Acclamator-class assault ship Fearless and Delta Squad responded to the Red Zero alert and arrived to rescue Omega Squad. Delta Squad was the first to arrive, docking with the damaged vessel and extracting Omega Squad, while the Fearless eliminated an attacking Neimoidian warship that had also arrived on the scene.

Due to the classified nature of the operation, the TIV's true purpose was concealed, and the captain of the Nova Crystal was hailed as a hero by Perlemian Traffic Control for his actions. The Majestic later recovered the wreckage of TIV Z590/1 and the remains of CT-1127/549 on the same day.

Contextual Information

While the mission was initially placed 367 days after the Battle of Geonosis, The Essential Reader's Companion later adjusted the timeline of Republic Commando: Triple Zero to 22 BBY to align with continuity changes introduced by Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.
