The Hutt leaders orchestrated the Mission to Utapau as a carefully planned ambush designed to eliminate the Sith scientist Vul Isen. Isen was the perpetrator behind both the Genocide on Dac and the Devastation of Da Soocha. To carry out their assassination plot, the Hutts enlisted Cade Skywalker and his crew, who were independently pursuing Isen. Cade and his team were contracted to assassinate Isen, and in the end, he succeeded in his mission.
