Third Jedi Purge

The Third Jedi Purge represented an attempt by Darth Krayt and his unorthodox One Sith to completely wipe out the New Jedi Order, with the goal of enforcing the Dark Lord's dominance over the galaxy. This event was triggered after significant losses in the Battle of Coruscant. The initial assault resulted in the deaths of approximately half of the Jedi at both Coruscant and during the Massacre at Ossus.

Following this, the remaining Jedi scattered and went into hiding, with many seeking refuge in the Hidden Temple, while some abandoned the Jedi path altogether. The new Emperor, fearing that the Jedi might align with the ousted Roan Fel and his Empire-in-exile, or with the Galactic Alliance Remnant, tasked Darth Maladi, the leader of Sith Intelligence and Assassination, with offering rewards for the capture of Jedi. Imperial Knights also became targets, although to a lesser degree. This was due to their allegiance to the deposed Emperor and their unique interpretation of Jedi teachings. The Purge ultimately concluded in 138 ABY, following the demise of Darth Krayt.

Despite the advantages held by the One Sith, the outcome mirrored that of the previous purges. Instead of being destroyed, the Jedi found renewed strength, with many members retreating to their hidden temple. Later, many Jedi participated in the war's final battle. During this battle, Cade Skywalker defeated Darth Krayt, causing the One Sith to lose significant military strength and retreat. This left the allied forces victorious, allowing the Jedi to rebuild their order.
