Mohrgan Fel, a member of the Imperial Knight order, held the position of cousin to Emperor Roan Fel. Serving as a dedicated bodyguard to his cousin for numerous years, he eagerly awaited the opportunity to test his combat skills against the Sith when they emerged during the Sith–Imperial War. His chance arrived in 130 ABY, where he sacrificed his life in battle against Darth Krayt to protect a Roan Fel impersonator, allowing the real Roan to escape.
Mohrgan Fel's birth placed him within the Fel family, the reigning family of the Empire. His relative, Roan Fel, was in line to inherit the throne. Possessing Force sensitivity akin to his cousin, Mohrgan underwent training as an Imperial Knight. He eventually rose to become a key bodyguard for Roan and a trusted advisor after Roan's ascension to the throne.
In the year 127 ABY, Roan Fel, facing pressure from the Moff Council, led the Empire into war with the Galactic Alliance due to the failure of the Ossus Project. The Sith joined the Empire's cause, a development that displeased the emperor but was unavoidable due to political constraints. Mohrgan Fel, sharing his cousin's sentiments, harbored a strong dislike for the Sith. Following the Galactic Alliance's surrender in 130 ABY and the Sith-led massacre of the New Jedi Order on Ossus against Roan's wishes, Roan sought counsel from Mohrgan and Antares Draco, another Imperial Knight who had previously been Roan's apprentice.

Roan Fel convened a meeting with the Moffs. During this meeting, he instructed Mohrgan Fel and Draco to carefully observe High Moff Morlish Veed and Moff Nyna Calixte, as he suspected their loyalty. At that moment, the Imperial Knights sensed a presence in the room and discovered Calixte hiding behind a curtain. Mohrgan used the Force to immobilize her while Roan questioned her motives. She revealed that Darth Krayt, the Sith leader, planned to assassinate Emperor Roan Fel during the meeting and seize the throne for himself. She explained that Roan's survival was beneficial to her and Veed, as it would maintain their usefulness to the Sith. Roan believed her, and Mohrgan released her.
Knowing the Sith would anticipate Roan's presence at the imminent meeting, Mohrgan Fel volunteered to lead the Imperial Knight escort protecting a Roan double prepared for such scenarios. Confident in his combat abilities, Fel sought to prove himself against the Sith since the war's onset. Meanwhile, Roan and Draco made their escape through a secret tunnel.
At the meeting, Krayt and his Sith entourage entered as Veed was speaking. As predicted, Krayt moved to attack the Emperor's impersonator. Fel, along with the three other Imperial Knights, mounted a strong defense, but the Dark Lord of the Sith swiftly overpowered all four single-handedly. Fel was the last to fall, disarmed and impaled through the chest by Krayt.

Mohrgan Fel possessed unwavering loyalty to his cousin Roan, even to the point of risking his own life to protect the Emperor. He also exhibited great confidence in his abilities, which led him to underestimate Darth Krayt in their final battle. Sharing his cousin's disdain for the Sith, he eagerly sought an opportunity to prove his worth against them, though his encounter with Krayt proved fatal.
Fel, as a trained Imperial Knight, was skilled in using the Force. He demonstrated the ability to sense the presence of others and utilize telekinesis, as seen when he lifted Calixte and pinned her against a wall using the Force. Although he believed his combat skills to be considerable, he was ultimately unable to withstand Darth Krayt's might.
Mohrgan Fel initially appeared as an unnamed Imperial Knight defending the Roan Fel decoy in Legacy (2006) 1, a comic book authored by John Ostrander, with illustrations by Jan Duursema, released on June 21, 2006. His identity as Mohrgan was revealed in Legacy (2006) 8, written by Ostrander, illustrated by Adam DeKraker, and released on February 14, 2007. The reference book Legacy Era Campaign Guide, published in 2009, confirmed Fel's last name.
