The final major engagement of the Sith–Imperial War, pitting the Fel Empire against the Galactic Alliance, was the Battle of Caamas.
Galactic Alliance intelligence suggested that Emperor Roan Fel would be present in the orbit of the planet, engaged in discussions regarding a potential alliance with envoys from the Chiss Ascendancy and the Hapans, with only a minimal protective escort. Piers Petan, recently elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral, championed the idea of deploying the main body of the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet with the aim of capturing or eliminating Emperor Fel. This proposal garnered support from Nu Toreena, an Ithorian member of the Triumvirate, but faced opposition from Mon Calamari Triumvirate member Gial Gahan, Duros Admiral Gar Stazi, and New Jedi Order representative Kol Skywalker, who conveyed the Jedi Council's apprehension of a potential trap. Bail Antilles was the sole Triumvirate member who remained uncommitted.
However, Antilles was swayed by Petan's argument emphasizing the necessity for decisive action, given the increasing number of systems declaring neutrality or aligning with the Empire. Despite Stazi's agreement to redeploy the Core Fleet, he instructed his aide, communications officer Jaius Yorub, to devise an escape strategy in anticipation of a potential Alliance defeat.

Above Caamas, the Imperial fleet, under the leadership of Grand Admiral Morlish Veed aboard his flagship, the Imperious, inflicted severe losses on the Alliance fleet. Simultaneously, the Resolute, commanded by Edouard Fenel, specifically targeted enemy vessels that were too heavily damaged to effectively defend themselves. The New Jedi Order was unable to assist the Alliance during the battle due to a Sith feint executed near Coruscant. This diversionary attack resulted in significant casualties for the Jedi Order and deprived the Alliance of crucial support.
Towards the end of the battle, the Alliance Supreme Commander, Rear Admiral Petan, accepted Grand Admiral Veed's offer of surrender. Admiral Gar Stazi, rejecting Veed's terms, led his remaining forces in a fighting retreat, a maneuver considered impossible due to the Imperials' deployment of gravity bombs and space mines within the nearby hyperlanes. Other Alliance units, including the Pride of Corellia under the command of Admiral Nict, followed Stazi's lead. Tragically, the Pride of Corellia was destroyed just before the fleet executed a jump to hyperspace using clandestine spacer routes.
In the aftermath of this battle, Coruscant was left without adequate defenses and subsequently fell under Imperial control. Emperor Fel attempted to persuade the remaining Jedi on Coruscant to join his Imperial Knights. While some Jedi agreed, others fled to Ossus, where they were later hunted down by the Sith and the forces under the command of Rulf Yage.
As a consequence of his triumph, Grand Admiral Veed was promoted to the rank of High Moff. Conversely, Stazi's successful escape and subsequent guerilla war transformed him into a legendary figure among the Imperials, although Dru Valan would be held accountable for allowing Stazi's escape.
