The Imperious was a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer that served the Fel Empire during the period leading up to its conflict—from 127 to 130 ABY—with the Galactic Alliance. These years saw the war between the two factions. During the Battle of Caamas, the war's last significant battle in 130 ABY, the Imperious functioned as the flagship of Grand Admiral Morlish Veed. Later, Veed, Moff Nyna Calixte, and Sith Lord Darth Maladi convened aboard the Imperious to strategize about the Empire's future.
Kuat Drive Yards built the Imperious, a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer, for the Fel Empire. The ship's design was influenced by the wedge shape characteristic of earlier Star Destroyers, and it had a forward hull that was heavily slanted.
The Imperious, a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer, was constructed to be the flagship for Imperial Grand Admiral Morlish Veed. It saw active service in the time preceding the Sith–Imperial War between the Empire and the Galactic Alliance, which took place from 127 to 130 ABY.
In 130 ABY, the Imperious acted as Veed's flagship during the Battle of Caamas, which was the final major engagement of the Sith–Imperial War. In the wake of the Massacre at Ossus—an event that resulted in the deaths of numerous Jedi at the hands of the One Sith, allies of the Fel Empire—High Moff Veed, Moff Morrigan Corde, and Sith Lord Darth Maladi gathered on the Imperious above Coruscant to discuss their strategies for the Empire. These plans involved replacing Emperor Roan Fel. The conversation that occurred aboard the Imperious ultimately triggered the coup that put Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt on the throne, initiating the era of Krayt's Galactic Empire. The meeting occurred only three hours after the massacre.
The Imperious first appeared in Allies, the eighth issue of the Star Wars: Legacy comic book series, which was released in February of 2007. John Ostrander wrote the issue, and Adam DeKraker provided the art. Within the Indomitable story arc, an Advanced Star Destroyer also bears the name Imperious. However, Ostrander admitted on TheForce.net's Jedi Council Forums that he mistakenly named both ships Imperious when writing Indomitable, a mistake that his editor overlooked before publication.
