Star Wars: Legacy: Indomitable constitutes the fifth narrative segment within the Star Wars: Legacy comic book series.
Aboard the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer named Relentless, a vessel belonging to the Outer Rim Third Fleet, Darth Azard conveys to Admiral Sha Dun that Darth Krayt expresses dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in eliminating Gar Stazi and the Galactic Alliance Remnant. Despite Sha Dun's assertion of capturing or destroying several of Stazi's vessels, Azard employs Force Grip and subsequently executes him with his lightsaber for his shortcomings. Following this, Azard elevates Admiral Dru Valan to command of the fleet. Valan vows to prevent Stazi's escape, referencing the Battle of Caamas. As Azard departs, Valan instructs Captain Hoge to replace all non-human personnel within the fleet with human counterparts, citing a desire for a 'superior' crew to confront Stazi. He then reveals his strategy to Hoge, involving a tempting lure to ensnare Stazi.
Concurrently, on the planet Dac, an Advanced Star Destroyer known as the Imperious nears completion. Former Triumvirate member Gial Gahan and his niece Monia Gahan are actively gathering information regarding the new Star Destroyer. Monia, serving under Admiral Stazi within Rogue Squadron, reveals that the Mon Calamari have been covertly supporting Stazi for the past seven years by providing resources and recruits. Gial cautions against aiding Stazi in stealing the Star Destroyer, citing potential Sith retaliation. However, Gial possesses all the necessary codes to assist Stazi, thus diverting the consequences of the theft onto himself. Subsequently, they return to a shipyard hangar, where Monia arranges for her fellow Rogue pilot Anj Dahl to transport her back to the Alliance Remnant fleet. Upon arrival, they relay their findings to Admiral Stazi and his second-in-command, Captain Jaius Yorub.
Once alone, Stazi and Yorub observe that the situation bears a striking resemblance to the trap at Caamas. They recall that Rear Admiral Piers Petan had presented evidence suggesting that Emperor Roan Fel would be present at Caamas with minimal escort, advocating for the deployment of all available Alliance ships to capture or eliminate him. Stazi, Kol Skywalker, and Gial Gahan opposed the plan, suspecting (correctly) that the Empire had intentionally provided the information. However, Petan argued that decisive action was necessary to secure victory in the war, persuading Nu Toreena and Bail Antilles to endorse the plan.
Returning to the present, Stazi and Yorub deduce that the Imperious serves as bait in a trap orchestrated by Dru Valan. Yorub suggests disregarding the Star Destroyer, but Stazi insists on seizing the opportunity to acquire the Imperious, emphasizing the need for military strikes. Stazi also suggests that their awareness of the trap could be leveraged to their advantage.
Two days later, Gial Gahan disables the Shipyard's automated defenses from the command center on the planet's surface as Alliance troops seize control of the Imperious. Subsequently, the Alliance task force, under Stazi's command, enters the system. However, on the planet's surface, Gial is captured, and the automated defenses are reactivated while stormtroopers reclaim the Imperious. At that moment, Admiral Valan's fleet arrives in the system. Valan communicates a message to Stazi, declaring that he is trapped and offering only two options: surrender or death. Stazi's response is simply "Caamas."
Gar Stazi reflects on the events at Caamas: during the battle, Jaius Yorub informed him that the Jedi were unable to assist due to a Sith diversion on Coruscant. Subsequently, Piers Petan announced to all Alliance personnel at Caamas that he had accepted Admiral Morlish Veed's terms of surrender. Stazi refuses to comply and orders all Alliance personnel willing to continue the fight to follow him. Stazi, along with a small contingent of Alliance ships, escapes via a hyperspace route that the Empire had failed to secure.
Returning to the present, Admiral Dru Valan questions Stazi's intentions, inquiring whether he intends to surrender or fight. Stazi affirms his intention to fight and orders his fleet to engage the Outer Rim Third Fleet. The Imperials are caught off guard by the sudden assault, prompting Valan to order a retaliatory strike, including fire from the Mon Calamari Shipyards. However, the shipyards target the Imperial fleet instead of Stazi's, having been compromised by Monia Gahan.
Meanwhile, aboard the Imperious, the stormtroopers who had reclaimed the ship are revealed to be Galactic Alliance troops under the command of Hondo Karr. They successfully commandeer the ship and evacuate the system. Upon learning this, Captain Hoge informs Valan, who orders his fleet to prioritize the destruction of Stazi at all costs.
Stazi's fleet retreats behind the shipyards, while Rogue Squadron provides cover against Imperial fighters. Stazi orders the remainder of his fleet to evacuate the system. As the fleet escapes, a shot from the Imperial fleet inflicts severe damage on the Indomitable. Valan renews his demand for Stazi's surrender, but Stazi declares his intention to pilot his ship into the shipyards to destroy them. As he orders the evacuation of his ship, Rogue Leader Jhoram Bey arrives on the bridge to escort the admiral to safety. Stazi refuses, asserting that he is merely one of many who serve. However, Captain Yorub argues that Stazi symbolizes the Alliance. Despite Stazi's continued refusal to leave, Yorub instructs Jhoram Bey to "do his duty." Bey incapacitates Stazi and removes him from the ship.
With Stazi secured, Yorub broadcasts a message, declaring that the Alliance endures and will ultimately triumph over the Sith. He pilots the Indomitable into the shipyards, destroying a significant portion of them. Aboard his ship, a stunned Admiral Valan instructs Captain Hoge to report the events to Darth Azard as he sees fit. He retreats to his quarters with a laser pistol, implying the possibility of suicide.
Meanwhile, at the Alliance fleet, efforts to activate the weapons systems aboard the Imperious commence. Stazi promotes Jhoram Bey to his second-in-command as a form of "punishment" for incapacitating him and instructs him to prepare the fleet for further action. He anticipates a Sith reprisal for the theft of the Imperious and seeks to determine its target.
