An Ithorian known as Nu Toreena held membership in the Galactic Alliance. She served on the Triumvirate, the governing body of the Galactic Alliance, in 130 ABY. Toreena, in contrast to her Triumvir colleague Gial Gahan, did not support the New Jedi Order, instead holding the Jedi accountable for the Sith–Imperial War.
Toreena advocated for the strategies of Rear Admiral Piers Petan to strike with the intention of either killing or capturing Emperor Roan Fel in 130 ABY. This occurred when the Galactic Alliance received intelligence concerning a meeting in the orbit of Caamas between Fel and representatives from the Chiss Ascendancy and the Hapes Consortium regarding a potential alliance. Despite the fact that Gahan, Admiral Gar Stazi, and Jedi Master [Kol Skywalker] (/article/kol_skywalker) rejected the plan as they suspected a trap, Toreena and Petan were successful in persuading the third Triumvir, Bail Antilles, to proceed with the attack.
The information proved to be a ruse set by the Imperial forces to entice the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet into an ambush. The battle that followed resulted in the Galactic Alliance's defeat and subsequent surrender to the Empire, which then seized control of Coruscant.
