Anj Dahl, a pilot of Human descent, served the Galactic Alliance Remnant during the Second Imperial Civil War. As a valued member of the esteemed Rogue Squadron, she actively participated in the intense Battle of Mon Calamari. Following that engagement, Dahl was given the responsibility of Rogue Leader, a promotion that came about when Commander Jhoram Bey was elevated to second-in-command by Admiral Gar Stazi. Dahl was also a participant in the Galactic Alliance's attack on Ralltiir and the difficult evacuation efforts from the planet Dac.
Within the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet, Anj Dahl, a Human pilot, became a part of the distinguished Rogue Squadron some years after the Battle of Caamas. As part of that squadron, in 137 ABY, she went with Mon Calamari Monia Gahan, also a Rogue Squadron member, on a crucial mission. Monia's goal was to convince her uncle Gial Gahan—a former member of the Galactic Alliance Triumvirate, and friend of Duros Admiral Gar Stazi—to provide critical data on the Imperious, a cutting-advanced Star Destroyer class being constructed at the Mon Calamari Orbital Shipyards. Dahl secured essential supplies, including parts, bacta, and a bottle of Corellian brandy for Andurgo, the Dug and fellow Rogue Squadron member.
After Monia Gahan successfully persuaded her uncle to share intelligence on the Imperious with the Alliance fleet, Dahl and Gahan piloted the Scarlet Star, a modified YT-2400 light freighter, back to the Indomitable and the larger fleet to deliver their report to Admiral Stazi. They narrowly avoided witnessing the altercation between Andurgo and Hondo Karr, a former Imperial stormtrooper. After Jhoram Bey, the Rogue Leader, intervened to stop the fight between Karr and Andurgo, the Weequay scolded Dahl and Gahan for causing Admiral Stazi to wait.
Dahl later participated in the Battle of Mon Calamari. When Ronto was forced to eject into Dac's atmosphere, Dahl warned Andurgo that she would "skin him alive" if the Dug's antics resulted in Ronto's demise.
Some time after the Battle of Ralltiir, the Galactic Alliance fleet journeyed to the Arkanis sector in the Outer Rim. Jhoran Bey briefed Dahl and the other members of Rogue Squadron on their upcoming mission. She accompanied Hondo Karr on a mission to extract Mon Calamari refugees from a moon orbiting Da Soocha. Although the mission was a success, Karr did not return, choosing to reunite with his wife and embrace his Mandalorian heritage.
Anj Dahl was known for her talent and eagerness. She also had a reputation for being mischievous, often instigating conflicts between her fellow Rogue Squadron members purely for her own amusement. Having spent much of her young adult life in the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet, Dahl felt that her life could end at any moment. Consequently, she embraced anything she found enjoyable. Dahl was exceptionally skilled at scrounging, able to acquire ship parts and supplies from most spaceports without attracting the attention of authorities. Her abilities in this area were enhanced by the support of Galactic Alliance Core Fleet sympathizers. Dahl disliked being Rogue Leader, believing that her predecessor, Jhoram Bey, was a more effective leader of Rogue Squadron. She considered her fellow squad members, including Hondo Karr, as her friends and was fiercely loyal to them. Dahl was determined to avoid losing any Rogue Squadron members under her command and was unwilling to leave anyone behind.
Dahl could speak and understand Galactic Basic Standard. She was also able to comprehend Binary. Dahl was proficient in unarmed combat. She carried a padded flight suit, a blaster pistol, a datapad, and a comlink.
John Ostrander, the writer of the Star Wars Legacy comic series, created Anj Dahl for the Star Wars: Legacy Indomitable story arc. She later appeared in the thirty-sixth and forty-second issues of the Legacy series. Dahl also appeared in the second, third, and fifth issues of Star Wars: Legacy's sequel miniseries, Star Wars: Legacy—War. Dahl received an entry in the Legacy Era Campaign Guide, published by Wizards of the Coast and released on March 17, 2009. Omar Francia drew Dahl for the Indomitable and Renegade storylines. In Rogue's End, Kajo Baldisimo penciled her; Jan Duursema drew Dahl in The Fate of Dac and in her three appearances in Star Wars: Legacy—War.
