The culminating engagements of the Fel Empire's conflict, known as the war, against the Galactic Alliance included the Battle of Coruscant.
The Jedi Temple was targeted in one aspect of the combat. This assault was a diversion intended to pull Jedi away from assisting in the Battle of Caamas. It's reported that the Jedi "halted" the Sith offensive, but suffered significant losses in doing so.
Despite Admiral Piers Petan's capitulation at Caamas, the Temple ultimately succumbed to Sith control. Azlyn Rae, a Jedi Padawan, was presumed to have perished. Roan Fel, the Galactic Emperor, presented the Jedi with the option to yield and become Imperial Knights. While some chose to accept this offer, others declined and gathered again at the Academy on Ossus. Emperor Fel commanded his troops to leave the Jedi undisturbed. Nevertheless, Grand Admiral Rulf Yage and Darth Nihl, a Fist serving Darth Krayt, disobeyed these directives and launched an offensive that decimated the New Jedi Order, dispersing the remaining survivors.
