During the era of the Galactic Civil War, specifically after the Battle of Yavin, he resided within a humble hut nestled in the northern mountains of the planet Dantooine.
During this time, a spacer, also an armorsmith, sought him out with the desire to uncover the secrets behind the creation of the R.I.S. armor. Ni'mai, in exchange for 50,000 credits, imparted the fundamental techniques of the armor's construction to the spacer. Once Ni'mai deemed the spacer to have grasped the core principles and had personally witnessed the spacer's proficiency in armorsmithing, he bestowed upon the spacer the schematics for each component of the R.I.S. armor.

A fellow armorsmith, a spacer, paid him a visit during this time with the express purpose of learning the construction methods for the R.I.S. armor. Ni'mai stipulated a payment of 50,000 credits from the spacer as a prerequisite to instruction. After receiving the payment, Ni'mai commenced by teaching the spacer how to craft the armor segment, the piece responsible for the armor's protective qualities. This armor segment required bones sourced from a woolamander harrower to provide strength, the hide of a gurk king for flexibility, and scales from a great dune kimogila for inner protection and maintaining warmth. The outermost layer of the armor then required feathers from a peko-peko albatross. Once Ni'mai was satisfied that his student had a grasp on the armor's fundamental construction, he instructed the spacer to create a complete pair of R.I.S. boots, which the spacer successfully completed. Deeming the boots to be of sufficient quality, Ni'mai rewarded his student by providing the schematics for the remaining components of the R.I.S. armor.
Mol Ni'mai possessed a strong sense of arrogance, considering himself the most accomplished master armorsmith in the galaxy. He refused to engage in extended conversations with individuals he deemed less knowledgeable in the art of armor crafting. When he did agree to instruct someone, he adopted a condescending attitude towards his pupil, often criticizing their work. He expected absolute obedience from his students. Ni'mai proclaimed R.I.S. armor to be his crowning achievement, dismissing all other armors as inferior and worthless.
Mol Ni'mai appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, which was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its shutdown on December 15, 2011. Mol Ni'mai was introduced to the game with the "Publish 4," which was released on November 13, 2003. Mol Ni'mai initiated a quest that involved the player, assuming the role of a spacer, learning to craft the Reinforced Insulated Sheath armor. Only players who had achieved the rank of master armorsmith were eligible to undertake this quest.
