While on Lothal, he entered into marriage and fathered two daughters, Moreena Krai and her younger sister; they all lived on his farm. When Moreena reached the age of fourteen, the Empire seized her father's farm, intending to expand their mining endeavors on Lothal. Consequently, the Krais departed Lothal and relocated to Alderaan, where they resided with Moreena's grandmother. At the Capital City spaceport, while the family was awaiting their off-world transport, Moreena noticed Ezra Bridger, a friend, and summoned him to bid farewell. They conversed briefly before Moreena's father summoned her, signaling the imminent departure of their transport.
Ryder Windham's junior novel, Ezra's Gamble, published in 2014, marked the initial appearance of Moreena Krai's father, although he remained unnamed at that time.
