The mythosaur axe is a type of melee weapon utilized by the Mandalorians. A specific example one was in the possession of Vera Beroya along with her father. The weapon's designation is the same as that of the mythosaur, a massive beast native to the Outer Rim planet of Mandalore.
The initial reference to, and visual representation of, the mythosaur axe within current Star Wars canon occurred in the 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement, Friends Like These, created by Fantasy Flight Games. Conversely, within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the mythosaur axe made its debut appearance in the first issue of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Sith War comic book series, authored by Kevin J. Anderson, and released by Dark Horse Comics on August 15, 1995.
