Red ball jett organ
The red ball jett organ, also called the red ball organ or nalargon, was a keyboard-based musical instrument famed as the signature instrument of Maximilian Rebo. This instrument had 21 keys and possessed the capability to save both tracks and sound recordings.
Production Notes
Although its identity was initially unknown, the red ball jett organ made its debut in the motion picture Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which premiered on May 25, 1983. A 2015 Topps trading card later officially named the instrument as the red ball jett organ. The Databank on StarWars.com originally referred to the instrument as the red ball organ, but this was subsequently updated to reflect its full name.
In 2024, during a collaboration with the video game Fortnite, the red ball jett organ was incorporated into Fortnite Festival as a Keytar cosmetic. The actual instrument also appeared within a limited-time Star Wars-themed area of the Jam Stage. In Fortnite, the instrument was designated as a Nalargon; however, the canonicity of this designation originating from the game remains uncertain. Leland Chee subsequently explained that there are no strict regulations prohibiting identifications from Fortnite, suggesting it is acceptable to regard them as canon.
