Namadii system

The Namadii system was a star system located in the Mid Rim region of the galaxy. Situated within the Churnis sector, it marked the terminus of the Namadii Corridor hyperlane. Notably, the system also contained the celestial body known as Namadii.

Throughout history, the Namadii system existed within the territories claimed by the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, and the New Republic. In 13 ABY, the military of the New Republic traversed this system en route to the Adumar system.

Description

This system, Namadii, resided in the Churnis sector, which itself was part of the New Territories within the Mid Rim. Its location at the end of the Namadii Corridor hyperlane connected it to the Ansion system. During the Clone Wars era, the hyperspace route extended beyond the Namadii system, forming a link with the Katorrs system in Wild Space. The astronomical entity of the same name was a component of the Namadii system.

History

The area of space encompassing the Namadii system was explored sometime between 3000 BBY and 1000 BBY. During the Clone Wars, which spanned from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, the Galactic Republic controlled the system. In the early stages of the conflict, the Seventh Sector Army of the Republic engaged the military of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in battles within the system's proximity. Following the Commerce Guild's acquisition of the planet Ukio, the Namadii system was depicted on a galactic map displayed on a viewscreen at a facility managed by Passel Argente, the Magistrate of the Corporate Alliance.

By 17 BBY, the Galactic Empire had dominion over the territory including the Namadii system. By 12 ABY, the New Republic had incorporated it into its territory. A year later, military units from the New Republic transited the Namadii system, proceeding along the Namadii Corridor toward a battle with the Imperial Remnant located in the Katorrs system. Around 25 ABY, the population of the Namadii system was estimated to be between one and ten million inhabitants.

Behind the scenes

The Essential Atlas, a reference book released in 2009 and written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, first introduced the Namadii system, positioning it in grid square I-6. The system made its on-screen debut in The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic by Pablo Hidalgo that was published on StarWars.com during the second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired from 2009 to 2010.
